Description
The Indian Cent, designed by James B. Longacre, was struck from 1859 to 1909. This specific Indian Cent was struck in 1861 at the Philadelphia Mint and is graded in Mint State 66 Red condition. Coins with the RD, or red, designation are among the most beautiful pieces as they have kept their original color. Out of every 1882 Indian Cent struck, only 34 examples have been graded in Mint State 66 Red condition with just 7 graded higher. With such a low MS66RD population and so few graded higher, this 1882 Indian Cent is not only a Condition Rarity but is also one of the finest known of the issue.
