1830-1840 Presentation Grade Eagle Head Militia Officer’s Sword


This Presentation Grade Eagle Head Militia Officer’s sword showcases a stunning eagle head pommel loaded with original gold gilt finish. The large eagle head pommel has consistent feather detail throughout. The chain guard of the bone grip leads to the cross guard which showcases beautiful leaf engraving. This blade exhibits the original gilded panoply of arms and blue panel. Blue and gold adoration span 16 inches from the hilt on the blade, which is in wonderful condition for its age. The scabbard shows a fine engraving of an American eagle and shield. Overall, this is a fantastic early eagle head pommel sword in excellent condition which offers stunning aesthetics. This type of sword was used in the Seminole Wars and the Mexican War era.
