The First Spouse Program was run side-by-side with the Presidential Dollar Program. The aim of this program was to honor the efforts and accomplishments of each of the First Ladies throughout U.S. history. These coins were minted from 2007 to 2016, and like the Presidential Dollars, four coins were released per year. This specific coin, struck in 2015 from ½ ounce of pure gold, honors Mamie Eisenhower. With a limited mintage of only 1,725 coins, this Mamie Eisenhower Gold Eagle is difficult to come across in any grade. Graded Mint State 70 with a First Strike label signed by twelfth Chief Engraver, John Mercanti, this coin is a stunning, flawless example.
