Description
- The Liberty Head Nickel was struck from 1883 to 1913
- The original design for the Liberty Head Nickel did not feature the word CENTS on the reverse
- Later in 1883, examples were struck with the word CENTS, making the No Cents issue a one-year-only variety showcasing the originally intended design
- The total mintage of the No Cents variety is less than one third of the With Cents variety
- The large V on the reverse is the Roman numeral for 5, indicating the denomination
- Condition Rarity: Significantly less than 1% of total mintage graded in MS65 condition
- Condition Rarity occurs when few coins survive in a high grade making them difficult to find
