The Lincoln Cent series began in 1909 and is still in production today. The original design of the series featured two stalks of wheat with the words "ONE CENT" and "United States of America" in the center of the reverse of the Lincoln Cent. The Lincoln Cent was produced in bronze, composed of 95% copper and 5% zinc, from 1909 to 1958 with exception of 1943 when the coin was produced in zinc-coated steel. This Gem Brilliant Uncirculated example has been graded MS66RD and features bright red coloring.
