• The Lincoln Cent began its mintage in 1909 and continues to be struck to this day
• Victor David Brenner’s original design showcased the Wheat Ears reverse until 1958
• The earliest examples of the 1909 Lincoln Cent included the designer’s initials, VDB, on the reverse
• The VDB variety only occurred in the 1909 issue
• Just 4 days after it was released, the VDB design was discontinued
• Condition Rarity: Significantly less than one tenth of 1% are in MS65RD condition
• Condition Rarity occurs when few coins survive in a high grade making them difficult to find
